The adorkable Zooey Deschanel was named the new face (or is that hair?) of Pantene. I had the chance to sit down and chat with her about her gorgeous locks and the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Here’s what Zooey had to say:
I was very excited [to start working with Pantene] because it has actually been a dream of mine. I love hair and I’m really passionate about it. Hair is part of your identity and how you express yourself and how you present yourself to the world and it can make you feel more confident on the inside.
I like that Pantene has such a wide variety of products that are affordable and I like that it can work for a lot of different people. I really like the Beautiful Lengths Strengthen and Smooth Cream. It makes your hair super soft.
I also like Hairspray for Fine Hair. I need a little hold, but I like that this doesn’t weigh my hair down. My hair doesn’t like too much product. You gotta love hairspray!
Zooey and I met at the Rita Hazan Salon in New York last Friday on National Donate Your Hair Day for Pantene Beautiful Lengths. The program collects donated hair for wigs which are then distributed to women with cancer through the American Cancer Society. That’s one of the brave women who donate her hair, below.
The Beautiful Lengths Program is really exciting. It’s nice that this is another thing that comes with it [being part of Pantene]. It was really inspiring to see that girl donate her hair. I looked at Danillo and I’m like I can’t I can’ t not cry right now.
It’s so great. Hair gives people confidence. There are women who get cancer and are afraid to get chemo because they’re afraid of losing their hair. And that is such a easy problem to fix. You have a great wig, you feel more confident.
Check back tomorrow for Zooey Deschanel’s packing tips. Hint: We have the same rule when it comes to shoes.
