We recently had the chance to catch up with Kellie Pickler, the 100 Proof singer who is currently on tour. Here’s what she travels with:
My must have carry-ons are always my dogs — they are my favorite accessory! In terms of my bag, I just recently discovered these 3-oz. travel-sized plastic bottle kits at Wal-Mart that allow you to carry your favorite products with you even when traveling. I love them because I can always have my go-to shampoo, conditioner and body wash with me wherever I go.
What are some must have beauty products when you travel?
Currently, I’m touring to promote my new album 100 Proof, so I’m constantly on my tour bus. Even though I’m a pretty simple girl when it comes to beauty products, I love having my essentials with me all the time. I pack drugstore face wipes for keeping my skin clean, and my go-to for lips is MAC C-Thru Lip Glass. It works wonders in every situation, from giving a matte lipstick shine to toning down a bright lipstick! I also love having my Tone Fruit Peel Body Wash with me. The alpha-hydroxy fruit acids in the product is a gentler exfoliant than scrubs. It leaves my skin feeling soft and Vitamin E makes it smooth. And I just love the smell!
What music do you usually listen to on the plane?
I’ve always been a fan of traditional, classic country music like Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. It’s what I listen to the most.
Any recent plane reads or magazines that you like to read when you travel?
I’ve always been a fan of non-fiction and reading about real people and historical stories. Right now, I’m reading The Good Soldiers, which is a powerful, touching book about real soldiers’ experience at war. I’m very involved with the USO and soldiers I met overseas on a recent USO Tour recommended this book to me.
Favorite snacks?
Since I’m on my tour bus right now, I have to rely on microwaveable food. I love frozen pizzas and snacking on raw almonds. Also, I’m a huge fan of Vemma, which is an all natural drink that gives me the essential vitamins I need to keep my body healthy.
What type of sweater or wrap do you generally travel with?
I love the sweater wraps at Target. I have one in camel and one in white, and they are really comfortable. I also love Target’s sweatshirts.
